Parks and Recreation
Claresholm has 7 playgrounds for your children to keep them active.
We have an amazing Children’s Spray Park, open June to September. It is next to the local campground.
Includes a 5-lane, 25 metre indoor swimming pool and hot tub. lt is the only indoor swimming facility in the surrounding area, with access all year. Register for affordable swimming lessons, as well children’s swim club and aqua aerobics.
Sports and Leisure
Claresholm offers many local sports and leisure clubs representing a wide variety of interests. They include minor baseball, softball, adult slow-pitch, fitness centres, dance, curling, darts, football, lacrosse, golf, hockey for youth, hockey for adults, rodeo, skating, archery, swimming, trapping, walking, yoga, 4-H, drama, and girl guides. Events and Celebrations
The Claresholm Fair Days celebration is a three day event held in August. It features a parade, outdoor entertainment and activities, a bench show, markets, BBQs and pancake breakfasts. The celebration concludes with a popular car show – the Claresholm Show and Shine.
We celebrate Canada Day with a morning flag raising ceremony and fireworks. Throughout the day there are family activities for people to enjoy.
An evening celebration, Claresholm’s Old-Fashioned Christmas features a downtown bonfire, wagon rides, hot chocolate, photos with Santa, caroling and a tree lighting ceremony.
Claresholm’s winter festival is a day of fun family activities that celebrates all things winter. It features a road hockey tournament, a Sno-pitch tournament, an artisan market, local entertainment, lots of children’s activities, and evening fireworks!
A small outdoor activity celebrating summer solstice, Claresholm’s Mexican Fiesta is a fun way to kick off the summer. It is both a picnic and gathering featuring Mexican inspired food and drink.
The Claresholm Arts Society produces an annual musical featuring local talent. Past Productions include Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Beauty and the Beast, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and more! Participation and/or tickets are open to the entire community.
Surrounding Area Attractions
With Lethbridge 80km south and Calgary 130km north, both cities are accessible from Claresholm for shopping, restaurants, and entertainment. If you enjoy camping and hiking, the mountains are a short drive west of the community.
